Viktor Bedő
2003 Viktor graduated in Philosophy at the University Vienna. From 2003 to 2006 he was junior researcher at the Institute for Philosophical Research of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He was taking part in Communications in the 21st Century, a project by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and T-Mobile Hungary. He participated in the Emergent City Action Group. As a holder of the Eötvös Scholarship he was visiting researcher at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities in the summer term 2007. From 2007 to 2008 as a holder of a DAAD research scholarship he was hosted by the Hermann von Helmholtz-Zentrum für Kulturtechnik in Berlin. From fall 2008 to spring 2009 he was holding a research scholarship of the FAZIT Foundation. From May to September 2009 he held a project-scholarship of the Institut für Raumexperimente. He is team member of the Visual Learning Lab, Department of Technical Education in the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and taking part in the activities of Berlin Invisible Playground. Recently he is writing his dissertation in a double doctoral scheme including the Doctor School for Philosophy, University of Pécs and the Institute for Philosophy at the Humboldt University of Berlin. In the summer term 2010 he is part of the teaching team of the School of Design Thinking at the Hasso-Plattner-Institut.
Viktor's research interest focuses on community driven urban mapping, embodied urban knowledge, visual thinking, and mobile communication. In his PhD-project "Interactive Urban Maps as Instruments of Thinking" he examines how bodily experience pertaining to urban life helps interpreting the chaotic dynamic image emerging on interactive real-time urban maps.
